Here are some important tips for a successful aerial yoga session:
Avoid eating before class: It’s best not to eat right before your aerial yoga class to prevent discomfort during your practice.
Wear appropriate attire: Wear socks, a shirt with sleeves, and tights without zippers. Avoid jewelry and hair clips to protect the hammocks.
Consider your health: If you are pregnant or have conditions like glaucoma, hypertension, very high/low blood pressure, anemia, vertigo, brain injury, recent surgery, musculoskeletal degeneration, osteoporosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, recent stroke, hernia, or have had a botox injection within the last six hours, it’s advisable to avoid Aerial Yoga at hip-hang height.
Hearing aid or anxiety history: If you use a hearing aid or have a history of anxiety attacks, it’s important to be aware of your comfort levels and discuss any concerns with your instructor.
For those who cannot participate in Aerial Yoga at hip-hang height due to health reasons, an excellent alternative is Aerial Restorative Yoga using a low-height hammock. This variation offers a gentler experience while still reaping the benefits of aerial yoga.
Enjoy your aerial yoga practice and prioritize your safety and comfort throughout the session!
